Salesforce, HubSpot and Claude for manufacturers and distributors
For manufacturers, distributors and equipment dealers that want one view of customers, dealers and orders, connected to the ERP they already run, and for leadership teams that want Claude rolled out with controls their IT team signs off on.
Short answer
Vantage Point works with manufacturers, distributors and equipment dealers on Salesforce, HubSpot and Claude. Our clients include a $1B capital equipment dealer, a specialty chemical manufacturer, a decorative lighting manufacturer, a kitchen manufacturing and remodeling company and a small industrial manufacturer. Our delivery lead, Randy Wandell, spent years in manufacturing systems on the IBM System/38 and AS/400 with ERP packages such as MAPICS, BPICS and J.D. Edwards, and we bring the audit trails and data controls we built for banks.
Where we help manufacturers
| Need | What we build |
|---|---|
| One view of customers, dealers and distributors | Accounts, contacts and partner relationships in Sales Cloud or HubSpot, with territories and account hierarchies that match how you sell |
| Quotes and orders | An opportunity to quote flow in the CRM, with order and invoice history from the ERP so reps stop asking finance for status |
| ERP connection | Integration with the ERP you run today through its APIs or middleware such as MuleSoft, with a clear rule for which system owns each record |
| Service, parts and warranty | Service Cloud or HubSpot Service Hub for service requests, parts questions and warranty claims, with scheduling where your team needs it |
| AI in the CRM | Claude connected to Salesforce or HubSpot through MCP, with permissions that follow the CRM |
| Clean data first | Data readiness: duplicate accounts, dealer hierarchies and the fields your reports and agents read |
When the ERP is older than the CRM
Many manufacturers still run core operations on IBM i (AS/400) or another long-lived ERP, and the CRM has to work around it. Randy Wandell, our delivery lead, spent years in manufacturing systems on the IBM System/38 and AS/400 with packages such as MAPICS, BPICS and J.D. Edwards. We map what the ERP owns, what the CRM owns and how the two stay in sync before anyone writes an integration. See the integration directory for the systems we connect.
Claude for your leadership team
Many manufacturers start with SI and AI, not a new CRM. We run a fixed-scope Claude pilot for 20 to 25 leaders: Claude Team or Enterprise set up with SSO, retention settings, approved connectors and audit logs, an all-hands session, breakouts by role for operations, sales, finance and IT, and hands-on sessions where each leader brings a real task, such as a sales and operations report, a supplier contract or a board memo. You can see sample deliverables from a governed Claude rollout before you talk to us.
What we can show you
$1B capital equipment dealer. A long-running Salesforce client, and one of the companies we introduce buyers to when they ask to hear from a manufacturer or dealer.
Kitchen manufacturing and remodeling company. A HubSpot optimization block: a scheduling calendar view across specialist calendars, corrected marketing contact billing, better website lead capture, cleanup of legacy automation and team training.
Specialty chemical, decorative lighting and industrial manufacturers. Salesforce implementations for sales and customer management, with ongoing professional services on retainer for the lighting manufacturer. See the anonymized profiles in our client directory.
Talk to a client. Tell us what you make and how you sell, and we'll introduce you to a client in a similar business. You can speak with them without us on the call. Ask for a client reference.
Questions we get
Do you work with manufacturers, or only financial services firms?
Yes, we work with manufacturers. Most of our clients are in financial services, and our clients also include a capital equipment dealer and chemical, lighting, kitchen and industrial manufacturers. The controls we built for banks apply to any company that cares about audit trails and who can see what.
Can you connect Salesforce or HubSpot to our ERP?
Yes. We start by deciding which system owns each record, such as customers, items, prices and orders, then connect the CRM to the ERP through its APIs or middleware such as MuleSoft. Older platforms such as IBM i are familiar ground for our delivery lead.
Salesforce or HubSpot for a manufacturer?
It depends on your channels, quoting and service needs. Companies with dealer networks, complex quotes or field service usually fit Salesforce. Smaller teams that put marketing and a fast rollout first often start on HubSpot. We implement both and recommend per situation.
Can we start with Claude before we change our CRM?
Yes. Our Claude pilot for leadership teams needs no CRM change. We set up Claude Team or Enterprise with SSO, retention settings, approved connectors and a usage policy, then train your leaders on their own work.
