Vantage Point was founded by David Cockrum, a former COO in the financial services industry, who recognized the unique technology challenges facing banks, wealth management firms, insurers, and fintech companies. Leveraging deep industry expertise and specialized knowledge of Salesforce, Vantage Point was created to bridge the gap between powerful CRM platforms and the specific needs of financial organizations.

Founder & CEO

David Cockrum is the founder and CEO of Vantage Point, a specialized Salesforce consultancy exclusively serving financial services organizations. As a former Chief Operating Officer in the financial services industry with over 13 years as a Salesforce user, David recognized the unique technology challenges facing banks, wealth management firms, insurers, and fintech companies—and created Vantage Point to bridge the gap between powerful CRM platforms and industry-specific needs.

Under David’s leadership, Vantage Point has achieved over 150 clients, 400+ completed engagements, a 4.71/5 client satisfaction rating, and 95% client retention. His commitment to Ownership Mentality, Collaborative Partnership, Tenacious Execution, and Humble Confidence drives the company’s high-touch, results-oriented approach, delivering measurable improvements in operational

David’s previous experience includes founder and CEO of Cockrum Consulting, LLC, and consulting roles at Hitachi Consulting. He holds a B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.

Randy Wandell leads Vantage Point’s professional services delivery with over 40 years of technology leadership experience. His career spans from mainframe computing to becoming a Salesforce ecosystem expert, with senior roles at Appirio, EMS Consulting, and IBM, where he managed large consulting
teams and drove operational excellence.

Randy’s leadership philosophy of “teaching people to fish” empowers teams through capability building and education, enabling scalable delivery processes while maintaining exceptional service quality.

His specialized expertise in financial services compliance, security requirements, and complex Salesforce integrations—combined with his hands-on approach to mentoring and innovation—makes him instrumental in driving customer success and elevating Vantage Point’s delivery capabilities.

Randy holds an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science from Pennsylvania College of Technology.
