• Recurring work can be scheduled. "Every weekday at 8 AM, summarize new messages in my team's Slack channels" runs in the cloud even when your computer is off.

Where do Docs and Slides fit next to Google Workspace and Microsoft 365?

Complement, not replacement — at least in beta. Three reasons to hold that framing:

The suites still own the system of record. Claude connects to Drive, Gmail, Microsoft 365, and Slack rather than asking you to leave them, and PowerPoint, PDF, and Word exports mean the deliverable lands back in the stack your clients already expect. 2. What may be shared by link. Docs are private by default but shareable through a single link anyone can open on a phone. Decide which document classes may live in Claude at all, and which may be link-shared — client-confidential material needs an explicit rule, not a default.
3. Check-in defaults. Manual mode, where Claude asks before acting, is the default for a reason. Set the expectation that Auto is for low-stakes work and that consequential actions keep a human approval step.
4. Which connectors are approved. Tasks can pull from Drive, Gmail, Microsoft 365, and Slack while they run. Approve connectors the way you would approve any third-party app access — all of it counts toward plan usage limits.
5. The review standard for client-facing deliverables. A deck drafted in the same conversation as the analysis is convenient, but someone named still reviews it before it goes to a client. Write down who.

The clearest wins are recurring, templated deliverables — the work that eats afternoons but follows a known shape. A weekly pipeline report that ends as a doc plus five slides. A board pre-read drafted from the same analysis as the appendix tables. A proposal outline that becomes a working document your team and Claude comment on in parallel.
