The problem it solves

Teams want AI on their Salesforce data without copying records into a chatbot, buying a per-user AI license or committing to one model provider. Most are not ready for an Agentforce program and need a safe first step.

What RecordIQ is

RecordIQ is a Lightning Web Component you drop onto any standard or custom object's record page. It reads the record, pulls in the related data you configure (open opportunities, the last 90 days of activity, cases, custom objects) and sends it with your prompt to the model you choose, through OpenRouter or a direct provider key. Answers appear in the record under buttons your team already knows how to click, with conversation memory and copy to clipboard.

Everything is configured in custom metadata: which model answers which prompt, which related objects supply context and which buttons appear per object. It runs without an Agentforce or Einstein license and respects your sharing rules and field-level security.

What is included

  • Six AI actions ready at install: Summarize, Analyze, Enrich Data, Win Strategy, Competitive Analysis and Lead Scoring, plus free-form "Ask Anything" with conversation memory
  • Custom prompt buttons per object through LLM_Object_Prompt__mdt (label, template, icon, display order, model)
  • Related-data context through LLM_Related_Object_Config__mdt (relationship, fields, filters, order, record limit)
  • Provider configuration through LLM_Provider_Config__mdt: Claude, GPT, Gemini, Llama, Mistral and more via OpenRouter, or a direct Anthropic or OpenAI key; a different model per prompt
  • Audit log (LLM_API_Log__c) of prompt, response, model, user and record on every call
  • Named Credentials for keys, "with sharing" Apex, CRUD and field-level security enforcement
  • Works on Lightning record pages, app pages and Experience Cloud

How it works

  1. Install the managed package (admins only) and approve third-party access to your model provider.
  2. Create an OpenRouter account, or use your Anthropic or OpenAI key, and set up the External and Named Credential.
  3. Create the provider configuration record and assign the RecordIQ User permission set.
  4. Add the RecordIQ Insights component to a record page, switch on the buttons you want and test with Summarize.
  5. Add your own prompt buttons and related-data rules in custom metadata as use cases grow.

Vantage Point does the install and writes your first prompts as part of the subscription.

What you need

  • Salesforce with Lightning Experience and System Administrator access for the install
  • An OpenRouter API key or a direct Anthropic or OpenAI key; model usage is billed to you by the provider
  • Named and External Credentials enabled
  • No Agentforce, Einstein or Data Cloud license required

Where it has worked

In production at an insurance and payroll brokerage, where RecordIQ drafts suggested replies on Case records. Pilots scoped for a wealth-management firm on Financial Services Cloud household records.

Frequently asked questions

Does RecordIQ replace Agentforce?

No. It is the fastest first step for teams not yet ready for an Agentforce program, and it coexists with Agentforce when you get there.

Where does our data go?

Prompts and the record context you configure go to the model provider you choose, through your own API key. Nothing routes through Vantage Point, and every call is logged in your org.
