In one sentence
Vantage Point's Dynamic Forms component builds editable, record-type-aware form sections from custom metadata, with inline field editing and smart lookups. No code to configure.
The problem it solves
Record pages need sections that change by record type and business context, with inline editing and consistent branding, without a developer for every tweak.
What Dynamic Forms is
Dynamic Forms renders a form section defined in custom metadata (VPC_Object_Section__mdt and VPC_Section_Field__mdt): which fields, in what order, with which labels and colors, per record type. Users edit a single field with a pencil icon and save without entering edit mode; lookups search as you type and show recent records; picklists respect record-type values. The layout adapts from one to four columns.
What is included
- Metadata-driven configuration, record-type support and field-set integration
- Inline field editing with field-level save and cancel
- Smart reference fields: search-as-you-type lookups and recent records
- Field-type intelligence for text, picklists, booleans and lookups
- Org branding, bubble labels, rounded cards, one to four columns
- Apex: VPCDynamicFormController, BrandingHelper, FieldsetHelper
How it works
- Define a section and its fields in custom metadata.
- Deploy the component and metadata (SFDX, Metadata API or change set).
- Add Dynamic Forms to the record page and set the object and section name.
- Change fields or order in metadata; the component needs no redeploy.
What you need
- Lightning Experience
- Deployed by Vantage Point as part of an engagement
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from Salesforce's own Dynamic Forms?
Salesforce Dynamic Forms arranges standard fields on a page. Our component adds metadata-defined sections with inline editing, smart lookups and branding, and works where native Dynamic Forms is limited.
Who maintains it?
Vantage Point deploys the source into your org and maintains it under your support plan. You own the code.
