Short answer
Single sign-on (SSO) lets users log in once with their company identity, typically through Microsoft Entra ID, Okta or Google, and access approved applications such as Salesforce, HubSpot and Claude without separate passwords. It centralizes access control and enforcement of MFA.
Single Sign-On (SSO) explained
SSO commonly uses the SAML or OpenID Connect standards. The identity provider authenticates the user and applies policies such as MFA and device checks, then tells the application who the user is. SCIM provisioning can automatically create and deactivate accounts when people join or leave.
For regulated firms, SSO makes it easier to prove who has access and to remove access immediately when someone leaves.
How Vantage Point helps: we configure SSO and provisioning for Salesforce, HubSpot and AI tools, including access for consultants and integration users.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between SSO and MFA?
SSO lets users sign in once for many apps. MFA requires more than one proof of identity. Most firms enforce MFA at the SSO identity provider.
What is SAML?
