Short answer
Salesforce Flow is Salesforce's main tool for no-code and low-code automation. Flows can update records, send notifications, call external systems, guide users through screens and run on a schedule, and they replace the retired Workflow Rules and Process Builder.
Salesforce Flow explained
There are several flow types: record-triggered flows that run when records change, screen flows that guide users through a process, scheduled flows, autolaunched flows called from other automation, and flows used as actions by Agentforce agents. Flow Orchestration coordinates multi-step, multi-person processes such as account opening.
Salesforce ended support for Workflow Rules and Process Builder at the end of 2025, so orgs still running them should migrate that automation to Flow.
How Vantage Point helps: we audit existing automation, migrate legacy rules to Flow, and design new flows that are documented and easy to maintain.
Frequently asked questions
Are Workflow Rules and Process Builder still supported?
No. Salesforce ended support for both at the end of 2025. They may keep running, but they no longer get fixes, so moving them to Flow is recommended.
When should I use Apex instead of Flow?
Flow handles most business automation. Apex is better for very high data volumes, complex logic, or integrations that Flow cannot handle cleanly.
