Matt Johnson

Vice President, Trading and Operations

Matt rejoined Bailard in 2026 as Vice President of Trading and Operations, where he strengthens the firm’s trading desk and operational infrastructure. In this role, he supports daily trading execution, scalable portfolio implementation, and the integration of technology solutions.

Prior to returning to Bailard, Matt was a Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager at IFA Capital Management, LLC. Earlier in his career, he spent two decades focused on healthcare capital allocation, biotechnology analysis, and the corporate development of clinical-stage biotechnology companies. Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from DePauw University. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, skiing, and cheering for the Denver Nuggets and Kansas Jayhawks.
