Before we recommend Palmata to a client, we wanted to see what it says about us. On October 2, 2026 we ran a full Palmata audit on vantagepoint.io. This post covers how the tool works, what it found, and what we changed in the two days that followed.
Palmata is an answer engine optimization (AEO) platform. Contentful launched it in June 2026, and it now carries the "Palmata from Salesforce" name. It answers one question: when a buyer asks an AI answer engine about your category, what does the answer say about you, and why?
Most AI visibility tools run a fixed list of prompts and count how often your name appears. Palmata researches your market first: how you compete, who buys from you, and how those buyers describe their problems. Then it asks the answer engine the questions those buyers would type and records the full answer, the sources behind it, and every competitor named.
A report covers one brand. You enter the brand name, every domain you own, and an optional line of steering ("we sell to banks and wealth firms"). With steering, Palmata shows you its topic plan before it spends any credits. The research then runs on its own and lands as a report with five views.
Palmata won't give you a single visibility number, and after reading our report we agree with that choice. It tracks whether you are mentioned, whether one of your own pages is cited as a source, and whether the AI perception of you is positive when you do appear. A firm can be mentioned often and still lose, because the answer is built from what other people wrote about it.
The most useful idea in the tool is the difference between a page that was cited and one that was only considered. A considered page was retrieved and then passed over. The engine already thinks it's relevant. Rewriting that page so it answers the question directly is usually faster than writing something new, and that's where Palmata points you first.
Every recommended action is replayed against the audit's buyer questions and comes with a predicted change in perception. You can edit Palmata's proposed rewrite in its simulation workspace and score your own version before anything goes live. A simulation is a forecast. The real test is a rerun, which Palmata files as a new version of the same report so you can compare runs side by side or as a trend.
The audit ran 450 buyer prompts across 15 topics and named 54 competitors. We appeared in 102 of those answers.
Palmata's one-line summary was fair: our senior-led reputation is strongest when buyers name us, and turning that into shortlist preference takes concrete delivery proof.
Two findings changed how we write. Palmata tested a rewrite of our support page that leaned harder on "guaranteed service levels" without defining them, and the answers got more skeptical. It also found that adding Agentforce and Breeze product documentation weakened our position, because it proved what the platforms can do and said nothing about what we have delivered. So we now define the terms behind a claim or leave the claim out, and we lead with what we actually delivered.
We worked the top of the Actions list on October 4, two days after the baseline:
The larger items are on our content plan: a Salesforce remediation proof hub, a multi-hub HubSpot onboarding evidence page, a CRM strategy and adoption library, and a refresh of our Partner Finder, AppExchange and HubSpot directory profiles. We haven't rerun the report yet, so we can't tell you what moved. We'll publish the comparison when we do.
If your firm sells into financial services or another regulated market, the answer an AI engine gives a prospect is now part of your public communications. Palmata shows you that answer, the pages behind it, and a ranked list of fixes with a predicted payoff. The work after that is content, website and CRM work, and it has to pass your compliance review.
That's the part we do. We set up and steer the research, turn the actions into page changes on HubSpot or your current CMS, and connect AI-referred visits to pipeline in Salesforce or HubSpot. See our Palmata implementation services, or book a call and we'll walk you through what a baseline would look like for your firm.
